Professors of the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University ended their three day protest at 5 pm today at the University administration block.
The Professors were disappointed since despite being promoted, they were still not getting the pay scale of the Professor category. 33 Associate Professors were promoted as Professors last year under the Career Advancement Scheme.
According to Dr. R. S. Chauhan, President, Teacher’s Agitation Committee, MLSU, “In the Coordination Committee meeting that took place today in Jaipur, the Governor of Rajasthan agreed for the fixation of the Professors that were promoted last year according to UGC norms under the Career Advancement Scheme. Governor also directed the government to resolve the matter soon and provide the respective pay scale to the promoted Professors”.
Chauhan added, “The protest will be continued if the government does not keep its word and does not provide fixation”.
“Governor has agreed for the fixation of the Associate Professors who were promoted as Professors under the Career Advancement Scheme last year”, said, Prof. I.V. Trivedi, Vice Chancellor, MLSU in a telephonic conversation with UT.
“Government has also declared the biometric system as compulsory and to be implemented strictly. Issues regarding the pension problem has also been resolved during the meeting”, added Prof. Trivedi.
