Protest against books with controversial material
Inappropriate material in books caused ruckus in a fair.
A 3-day book fair “Satyarth Prakash Mahotsav” was going on in Gulab Bagh. On the last day of the fair, some people noticed a book which had controversial material.
Some ladies were moving around in the book fair on the last day of the fair when they noticed a particular book that had controversial material based on religion. These ladies informed their family members about these books and their community members gathered there in no time. There was a lot of ruckus and before police could reach, the book stall owner fled from the place. Councillor Rashid Khan informed police about this in writing.
Police has registered a case against the stall owner on the basis of details of the stall number. President of Shrimad Dayanad Satyarth Prakash Committee said that he received information about inappropriate material in the books. He also said that the committee has no interference in the materials sold on the stalls. Now that the issue has been brought to the committee, the President said that a screening committee will henceforth be made to keep a check on the materials on the stalls. These committees will keep a watchful eye on the books sold in fairs.
