Environment lovers have requested administration to prohibit fishing in the main lakes of Udaipur city.

Members of Wild Life Rescue Society and other environment lovers have appealed to administration to issue directives to prohibit fishing in the lakes in Udaipur city. They said that fish contractors throw their nets daily in Fatehsagar Lake. This is not only resulting in damage to vegetation in water but is also a danger to migratory birds. Birds get stuck in fishing nets and get injured. Boats are operated irregularly very often for fishing purposes.

The members have therefore appealed to prohibit fishing in Udaipur Lakes. Lakes should be left as is with their natural life and vegetation. Disturbing these factors results in damaging the natural existence of lakes.
