Residents of Nada Khada -Ward 10 took legal help against repairing work of Waste Dumping Shade; claimed that Dumping shade is the reason of spreading diseases in locality. Court granted 15 days to come up with a quick and favourable decision over the matter.
The dump shade at Nada Khada is used by the Municipal Council to dump solid waste collected from nearby areas, over the past few years it has become a pain as the dumped waste gets spread over the locality, tempering hygiene of dwellers and causing illness.
The shade was installed by Municipal Council in 1991 as a waste dump, has undergone wear and tear, so a repairing work was about to be carried out by the department, though dumped waste is timely shifted to a permanent dumping yard at Balicha.
Sources inform that residents had given number of plea to the council demanding relocation of the shade, but recently when officials visited to see the possibilities of renovation, had to face a protest from locals.Kailash Sahu, Advocate and Resident -Ward 10 said, “Place is already very congested and located in heart of the city, around 500 families dwell in this partial slum area, dumping of solid waste on such colonies can prove to be fatal for the health of the individuals living around”.
Sahu added that people had discussed upon the matter with Chairperson and Commissioner respectively, but no satisfactory decision was taken by the responsible, as a result we forwarded our plea to Court.
