A 62-year-old female pensioner started indefinite hunger strike today outside the administrative building of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University. The decision of hunger strike was made by the association after no positive decision came in the meeting held by governor.
Retired professor Hemlata Bolia decided to go on hunger strike till no favorable decision is taken.
Nearly 500 MLSU pensioners are protesting for not receiving their pension. Both MLSU and State administration hasn’t come to a common decision yet despite of several high level meetings held in past days.
“Pension is our right and state government itself decided it but later stopped it. Pension is our only way of surviving in this old age” said Hemlata Bolia who was teaching Sanskrit in MLSU and retired four years back.
“I will continuously sit here on hunger strike till they (administration) don’t give us pension” she said.
