Road Construction Delayed, residents suffer

The re-construction of a road in Ward number 52 behind Ajanta Hotel, Udaipur has become a pain in the neck for the residents. No supply of sand due to a stay from the High Court is believed to be the major reason of the delayed work. Since the past 10 days the roads of the area behind Ajanta Hotel was broken for re construction. Work for the same was started, but nothing more than a mess can be seen and residents are facing problems while using the roads.

Since the past 10 days the roads of the area behind Ajanta Hotel was broken for re construction. Work for the same was started, but nothing more than a mess can be seen and residents are facing problems while using the roads.

According to information provided by the localities of the area, they have contacted the area Councillor several times, but all they have got are promises to fix the dug road in 2-3 days. Moreover, absence of street lights in a few areas is adding to the distress.

Sajid Khan, a businessmen in the area said, “Roads are already too congested to walk, drive or park; such delayed work is just adding to the problems.”

Sanjay Pagariya, Councillor (Ward 52) said, “We are well aware of the problem being faced; short supply of sand due to the court stay is delaying the work progress”.
