No one could go into the Information Centre (Suchna Kendra) near Mohta Park on Friday. From one point to the other right outside the main gate of Information Centre, road was dug up at one go and people inside didn’t even realise that they wouldn’t be able to move out.

There was a lot of public in the library of Information Centre (Suchna Kendra). Their vehicles were parked inside the premises of this building while the road was being dug. People had no clue of the road being dug as no such information was rolled prior to the work. For almost an hour no one could move out of the building.

Troubled and disgusted with the situation of being almost stranded in the building, officers and other staff of Information Centre questioned the contractor about the road work. Reportedly, the contractor misbehaved with everyone and spoke in very inappropriate manner. He said that he had all the permissions needed to dig the road and that no one can question him on his act. Administrative officers were informed about this situation after which contractor gave instructions to the labour to fill up the place.

As per sources, many such tasks are being carried out on the instructions of Department of Information and Technology but in the absence of monitoring, difficult situations are arising creating disturbance everywhere. Officers of Department of Information and Technology said that they will look into the matter and take action against the contractor responsible for road work.
