Robbers targeted a house in VIP colony in Sector 7. In spite of the fact that the colony houses a lot of VIPs, it has no security guards.

Former legislator Prakash Chowdhary’s house became the target of robbers on Wednesday. The robbery came to light on Thursday morning when the neighbours saw the main gate of the house opened. Since nobody was home at night, the neighbours called up Prakash Chowdhary’s son Raja. A lot of valuables were stolen from the house including cash and electronic items.

On reaching home, Raja found that the lock on main gate was broken. Clothes, important documents and files were scattered on the floor. Raja reported the matter in Hiranmagri police station. As per report, 42 inch LED TV from the bedroom, 56 inch LED TV and home theatre from the dining hall, 70 thousand rupees from the cupboard, gold chain, gold ring, earrings, watch and property papers were stolen.

Raja Chowdhary also said that his father Prakash Chowdhary met with an accident a few days back and was admitted in Pacific hospital in Umarda. After being discharged from hospital, he went to Sadri with relatives.  An electrician and his helper had come to the VIP colony on Wednesday to check an electricity metre. There is no CCTV camera installed anywhere in the colony. Even in the absence of Chowdhary family, no servant or guard were appointed for the security of the lone house.

There is no security arrangement in the colony where a lot of VIPs are living. None of the dwellers have appointed any security guard as well. Even police patrolling happens once in a while. None of the houses have CCTV camera which have become now since robberies are on a rise in the town.
