Scarce rainfall spoils beauty of Udaipur lakes
Lakes are Udaipur have a disappointing look in 2018.
Udaipur lakes are suffering because of scarce monsoon this year. Sadly, the lakes known for their beauty might not attract tourists this season.
Shortage of water in lakes is a point of concern for every single citizen of Udaipur. With very little or almost no rains this year, the lakes are losing their beauty and attraction. The city has been known for the beautifully full lakes and the view they present. But this year, the monsoon has not been good enough to even provide the average water capacity to the lakes. Tourists that have been visiting Udaipur mesmerised by the pictures of over flowing lakes are in for a disappointment in 2018. The other important point of concern is the regular water supply. With the lakes left with little water to suffice the daily needs of the city, it is well understood that water supply will also suffer and public will have to adjust with less availability of water.
Catchments haven’t seen enough rainfall as a result of which Fatehsagar which has a capacity of 14 feet now stands at 3 feet 11 inches only. The result is that the lake bed is also visible now. Obviously this has posed a threat for tourism industry as well. Shortage of rainfall has put a big question mark on the lakes.
