Shortage of 500 and 1000 rupee stamp papers

Udaipur district has gone short of stamp papers of 500 and 1000 rupees. It may be noted that 500 and 1000 rupee stamp papers are required for property registrations and loan purposes. Public is trying to get hold of stamp papers for their necessary legal work but the stamp vendors have only 50 and 100 rupee stamp papers available with them.

The shortage has made it difficult for public to go ahead with registrations and loan demands. When the news of shortage of stamp papers reached the Collector’s office, it was clarified that even the Ajmer stamp depot has gone short of these stamp papers. Stamp papers are printed in Nasik Press. It is not even known as to when these legal papers will be made available. Public is now forced to adjust their requirements by purchasing equivalent values in 100 rupee and 50 rupee stamp papers. It may also be noted that the treasury office can go short of 50 and 100 rupee stamp papers any time.
