Street lights have become one of the burning issues in many areas. Residents of areas between Thokar choraha and Akashwani colony complained that street lights in these areas have been out of order for the past 6 months. They also complained that UIT was informed about this issue but no action has yet been taken.

Public complained that contractors do not use good quality cables as the lights stop working within a few days of repair. It has become extremely difficult for the residents of Dhimdi basti, Suryanagar, Akashwani colony Udai Vihar colony Arihant Vihar colony, Madri village, Kanpur and Lakadwas to move around after evening time as all the roads are dark in the absence of lights.
