On the second day of two days of nationwide strike by 11 registered trade unions, Coordinating Committee of Central Trade Union in Udaipur submitted a memorandum at collectorate today.

The memorandum was addressed to the Prime Minister of India and stated that the policies of the government are against the common man of this country. Committee mentioned about the ten point demand and asked the government to withdraw FDI in retail and change the policies against industrial workers.

They stated that on the one hand, government is giving tax rebates to the rich while, on the other hand, it is continuously raising the prices of diesel/ petrol giving an impression that the government is against the poor.

During the strike, 21000 drafts and cheques worth Rs 250 crore remained stuck in the clearing house as all the bank unions participated in the strike.

During the demonstration by bank unions at Bank Tiraha, Coordinator of United Forum of Bank Unions D K Jain said, “This was the biggest commercial strike in the world where 25 crore employees went on full strike for 48 hours.” He thanked everyone for making it a successful strike.
