One of the students of Human Rights Department of Arts College, has given a written complaint to MLSU Registrar, for facing troubles, due to alleged lack of co-ordination and mistreatment by professors of the Diploma Course in Human Rights.
The student Pooja Roy, blamed the Professor and Assistant Professor for irregularity in conducting classes and behaving arrogantly with students. Whereas the professors denied all charges and said that, classes are being conducted as per its schedule.
After listening to the complaint made by student, the Registrar of University, L. N. Mantri, assured the students for inquiry, proper check and needful action.
According to the letter handed over to the Registrar, students stated that they were not allowed to enter the class conducted by Prof. S. K. Kataria and Assistant Professor G. S. Chouhan. The letter also stated that both the Professors had asked the students to stay at home and no classes shall be conducted then.
Whereas, Prof G. S. Chouhan allegedly denied all the allegations and said that all classes are being conducted as per the time-table and they even co-operate if there is only one student in a class. “If she had any problem then she should have approached the Dean or the Co-ordinator, in fact, she is the irregular student in the class.”, said Chouhan.
According to sources, there are 40 students in Diploma Course and most of them don’t attend regular classes.
The complainant claimed that before approaching Registrar, she contacted Arts College student president and even the coordinator but when no action was taken she approached the Registrar.
Dr. Girdhari Singh Kumpawat, coordinator of Diploma Course in Human Rights informed that there are 3 classes being conducted every day, Prof G. S. Chouhan conducts classes on first three days of a week, while Prof. S. K. Kataria conducts classes on last three days of a week.
“Students should follow proper channel if they have any problem, till now everything is going perfectly” said Dr. Kumpawat.
