A student has filed a complaint against NSS camp officials for misbehaving and forcibly sending her to mental asylum.

Shagufta Bano, student of BA III year in Meera Girls College, went for NSS camp on national level on 26th October. She said that she felt slightly unwell after which she was forcibly taken to a hospital. The officials also misbehaved with her so that she is forced to leave the camp. After this incident, she left NSS camp on 31st October and returned home.

As per the complaint, Shagufta was locked in a room during Pre-RD NSS camp at Hisar. Though her health was not so bad, she was locked for the whole night by program officer Dr. Beena Dwivedi and other NSS officers. She was not even given food. Shagufta said that the officers forcibly took her to a hospital and left her alone with a male doctor. They even took her to the mental asylum.

After returning home, Shagufta gave a written complaint to the college Principal and asked for action to be taken against NSS camp officers. College administration has forwarded the complaint to NSS Regional Director.

Meera Girls College Principal Dr. Ritu Matharu said that the complaint will also be forwarded to Commissioner’s office. NSS camp Director SP Bhatnagar, in his clarification, said that Shagufta was not well and was constantly vomiting for which she was taken under medical care. He also said that she was sent home because she requested for the same.

Shagufta says that the officers misbehaved with her and even took her to the mental asylum because they wanted her to leave the camp. They tortured her so much that she was not left with any option other than leaving the camp.
