A mobile tower installed on the college building has been interrupted amid strong opposition from college students and college administration regarding its hazardous effects on health.

Students of Arts College, MLSU protested by climbing over the BSNL mobile tower, placed on college building from last three years. Finally, college administration supported the agitation and ordered to shut down the tower.

Student leaders, Dinesh Bhoi and Dilip Singh Sisodia, welcomed the decision of S. C. Shrivastava, Dean of Arts College, for supporting the issue raised by students.

The protest started from 12:30 pm, when number of students started protesting and tried to shatter mobile tower equipment, noticing the protest getting violent college administration intervened and controlled the situation.

S. C. Shrivastava said that, “erecting mobile towers in residential areas and nearby colleges or schools is wrong and unlawful, so we supported the cause with our students.”

“The tower is no more working now, BSNL people will take off everything in a day or two”, said a college employee who doesn’t wish to be named.
