Beware of smartly dressed strangers on the occasion of wedding in your family. They are most likely to be thieves.

In a recent wedding ceremony in Shubh Kesar Vatika, a smartly dressed up lad made his way into the wedding venue and disappeared with valuables. Hardly 11 or 12 years old, this child was spotted in CCTV footage and appeared to be from a respectable family or that’s the impression his clothes created.

Sandeep Mehta s/o Ummed Mehta lodged a complaint in Goverdhan Vilas police station about a theft which took place at the wedding venue. When police searched through CCTV footage, they noticed a 11-12 year old lad who was walking away with a bag in hand. Later the same lad was seen in other functions of the family. Most certainly this child was performing a recce of the area and making use of the opportunities.

As per Mehta, there were too many children moving around having fun during wedding functions. Everyone considered this thief child to be a part of guest families; hence no one paid much attention to him. This child was smart enough to make his way into the wedding in style and escaped with a lot of valuables.

As per police, this incident is not first of its kind. It has been discovered that Saansi and Bavaria tribes of Madhya Pradesh move out in groups of 10 to 14 year old children throughout the country and commit such thefts. Even old ladies are part of this group. They first observe every activity of the targetted area and then give results to their plans. Their target areas are mostly wedding venues, banks and even houses bustling with activities. Police are still investigating such cases.

Search is on for this little thief. He might be moving around some other area and making plans for another successful escape with valuables. So BEWARE.
