The apex court ordered Ministry of Women and Child Development to provide suitable clips and ensure that the clips are screened. Orders were also given to TV channels to show these clips along with child abuse prevention helpline numbers.
In each district across the country, there are more than 100 FIRs pending, related to protecting children from Sexual Offences Act.
These short clips will spread awareness about prevention of child abuse and prosecution of crimes against children, and they need to be mandatorily screened in every movie hall especially during intervals, as per the court directives. The directives also stated that Child Helpline numbers should be displayed in the clips not only in movie theatres, but also in other prominent public places, and schools.
