Teachers Continue Protest against Govt. Policies

A letter seeking solution to all financial and non-financial issues faced by the Teachers of Rajasthan was presented by Rajasthan Teachers Association (National) to Collector in name of Chief Minister of the state including Education Minister, Governor, Chief Secretary, Chief Secretariat Office, Jaipur and Chief Administrative Secretary, School and Sanskrit Education Dept., Chief Secretariat, Jaipur.

According to letter, solution of financial and non-financial issues faced by Teachers of Rajasthan was promised by Government in the election manifesto.

Government had also promised to apply the sixth-pay commission and related perks for state employees as it is applied in center, but there have been no developments on that front either.

The teacher’s community is now having second thoughts on implementation of the promises made by Government in their election manifesto. The community had also presented a memorandum for the same on 8th July, 2012 wherein they asked for solution for same set of problems.

But after no reply from Government, today they presented this memorandum. Further strategy on this will be decided if the demands are not met.

Demands raised include:

· State employees, like their central peers should be given sixth-pay commission benefits retrospectively from 1st January, 2006.

· Present payment procedure guidelines should be revised and employees should be given benefits of their relative posts.

· Teachers should be provided with fundamental facilities as mentioned in the Right to education bill.

· The rise in exam fee, despite of irregularities in conduct board examination, to be rolled back.

· Clear guidelines for transfer to be formulated.
