Teachers protest against Government

Protesting against the Government’s decision of extending working hours in Government Schools of the State, a large number of teachers staged a protest outside District Collectorate, Udaipur on Monday.

Almost all the Teacher’s associations got united and handed over a joint Memorandum under the banner of Rajasthan Shikshak Bachao Sanyukt Morcha, to the administrative officers  and demanded that the State Government reconsider their decision and also to dismiss the staff pattern.

Besides this, other issues, viz. removal of privatization under PPP model and solving the problems of the teachers were also amongst the major demands of the protestors, said Sher Singh, a senior member of the association.

Singh also added that the government’s decisions are exploiting the teachers and their rights.

He further said that the teachers protest is an outcome of many pending issues, viz. increasing the pay scale of the teachers who have completed their probation period and their appointment to permanent grade; teachers should not be allotted any work other than teaching and continuation of position of Principal in Senior Secondary schools.

The association also said that if their demands were neglected then they will stage a protest at the Chief Ministers residence at Jaipur on 29th July.
