Teachers registered under “Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh” protested today, at the District Collectorate. By this demonstration, they intend to urge Administration to resolve their pending economic and non- economic demands.
In their Memorandum submitted to the District Collector, Hemant Gera, the teachers demand that, the benefit of the grade pay and other facilities as per the Sixth Pay Commission from 01.01.2006, as per the promise mentioned in the Election Manifesto, must be extended to teachers.
Other demands of teachers included: Full benefits should be given on present designation and promotions under Career Advancement Scheme should be stopped. As per Right to Education Act, teachers should be provided with basic necessities and impractical/non functional provisions of the Act should be reviewed.
Teachers further demanded that, hike in exam fees should be taken back, even though that leads to financial loss to the State’s Education body. And lastly, rules should be formulized for transfer related issues affecting teachers in Education Department.
