Almost all small and big groups of Udaipur supported the Advocate’s demand for installing High Court Bench in Udaipur. Thousands of people marched today to Divisional Commissioner’s office in a rally led by bar association and Mewar-Wagad High Court Bench Sangarsh Samiti.

Advocates from Banswara, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh also took part in the protest along with the advocates of Udaipur Bar Association.

Several social, religious and political groups join hands in the movement and participated in the rally. Business groups like Marble Association, Udaipur Chamber of Commerce, CA Bench and religious group like Jhulelal Brigade, Muslim Mahasabha, Rashtriya Sikh Mahasabha etc took part in the rally.

The protestors demand high court bench in Udaipur so that majority of the population of Southern Rajasthan who were denied social justice, freedom and impartiality before can get justice now. For the last 30 years, Udaipur division bench is demanding high court on the basis of cultural, historical, geographical, financial and social reasons.

Mayor and all local corporators of Udaipur Municipal Corporation, leaders of Teachers Association, Labour Union, Mahila Samridhhi Bank, all BJP leaders also participated in the protest.

Advocates dressed in their uniform started the rally from court and marched through several city streets to the office of Divisional Commissioner. Large number of police force was deployed to tackle any law and order situation.

Due to rally, several city roads were blocked and the traffic was diverted which caused problem for motorists.

Till late evening, activists were present outside the commissioner’s office.

Some sources said that the representatives of advocates were called for the meeting with commissioner.
