Tomatina festival causes Uproar in Udaipur

Hindu Jagran Manch displayed opposition against the tomatina festival to be organised on the day of the colour of festivals, Holi. The festival is basically from Spain where the natives throw tomatoes at each other and the merry-making goes on.

A similar festival is being organised in the city of Lakes which is being opposed by the Hindu Jagran Manch and a notice has been given to the District administration against event companies who have made several arrangements for the upcoming festival of Holi.

The main point being shouted out loud is the wastage of tomatoes which as per tradition is against the Indian culture. Where wasting of food products is considered a crime as a lot of people are dying of hunger, destroying tonnes of tomatoes following foreign culture has aroused more anger.

Holi is an Indian festival and celebrating it in Spanish style will not be tolerated, said the Hindu Jagran Manch. They have also demanded that two venues where tomatina festival has been arranged by event companies be asked to do away with their programme else aggressive steps will be taken against them. Wasting of food for the sake of fun will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
