A travel agency has been accused for cheating customers on the pretext of Hajj. An agency from Ahmedabad has also been accused.

News of cheating people on the pretext of Hajj Yatra in special quota has been brought to light. Travel agencies of Udaipur and Ahmedabad have been accused of fooling people by taking lakhs of rupees for Hajj Yatra under special quota. The agencies Al Umar Tours and Travels pvt.ltd in Khanjipeer, Udaipur and Muslim Tour and Travel agency of Ahmedabad have reportedly befooled people by offering Hajj Yatra on comparatively cheaper rates.

Naved, brother of Anjum Aara who was supposed to go for Hajj Yatra, reported that Al Umar Tours and Travels pvt.ltd. took 2 lakh 30 thousand rupees for the aforesaid travel. People from Kanod, Banswara and Udaipur deposited money with this travel agency. Registrations were done in the month of December for travel in August. Sharafat Ali from the travel agency asked the travellers to reach Mumbai on 20th August. When people from Banswara reached Mumbai on 20th August, there was no one to attend to them for the travel. They in turn informed the other travellers of Udaipur. When Udaipur people reached the residence of the agency owner, he was found at home. To their shock, when asked about the travel, the owner said that there was no such travel plan. These people then made him sign cheques for refund.

On the other hand, Farida Bohra complained against the Ahmedabad agency. She said that the agency had taken 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees for the Hajj Yatra which did not happen. The Ahmedabad agency also told the customers that their refund amount will reach via courier.

Agency owner Iqbal Musa Khedawala says that all passengers are being refunded the entire travel amount.
