A house in fragile condition was partially demolished by Udaipur Municipal Council amidst agitation from house owners and neighbors at the Dholi Bawdi area today.  The front elevation of the one storey house has been ordered to be broken down.

It was a confusing state for Municipal Council’s officers who were stuck between several owners of the disputed house who were demanding a chargesheet as a proof of all their belongings in the house, which is kept shut from last one decade being safe.

UMC officers felt helpless as no one from the Treasury department accompanied them to make the chargesheet and on the other side the condition of the house was so bad that it could come down any time and cause danger to the life of nearby residents.

According to sources, there are 8 people who claim ownership of the 35 year old residential building which is locked from the last 15 years.

Municipal Council’s AEN Girish Shrimali reached the site with additional Police force today early afternoon in a densely populated area but following the protest, the work was delayed and finally, only the front elevation was ordered to be demolished to lower the risk.
