Unofficial Garbage Dumping: UMC Commissioner Restricts EmployeesFew days back, one of UT’s readers had shared few photographs, where a UMC truck was disposing garbage by the lake side at Rani Road. The incidence when reported to the higher officials showed an instant reaction and restricted all the drivers to ensure dumping to the safe and officially allotted yards.

Today, when UT reporter brought the very incidence to the concern of the Municipal Council Commissioner, Satyanarayan Acharya, in his spontaneous response he instructed all his employees to make sure that collected waste must be dumped in safe and distant places, also ordered the respective departments to provide timely update on waste dumping.

Sources say that State government had allotted a separate land for dumping of solid waste collected over the period of time; same is located in the outskirts of the city at Balicha.

Similar incidences have also being reported earlier, in which collected waste was dumped by the sides of National Highway No. 8.
