Women from Mandavar panchayat in Rajsamand approached the District Collector demanding a ban on alcohol. Eight months back, people had voted against liquor in Kachbali panchayat of Bheem block which became an inspiration for the women of Rajsamand. 

Demand for liquor ban is on rise. People protesting against liquor said that administration and excise department are collectively trying to suppress their movement. Due to delay in the allotment procedure for liquor, excise department will start the liquor shop allotment process in this financial year but it is not acceptable to the general public as they are against the opening of liquor shops.

The protesters have accused the administration of suppressing the movement saying it is being done only to bridge the gap due to revenue loss.
