ISRO Recruitment 2026: Notification Released for 93 Posts, Selection Based on GATE Score
UdaipurTimes, Job Openings Updates | August 14, 2026: In India, many students are eager to become scientists and engineers at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Currently, this opportunity has come for engineering students. The ISRO Central Recruitment Board has started accepting online applications for 93 Scientist-Engineer (SC) posts. This recruitment process will be conducted across various engineering branches, including electronics, mechanical and computer science.
Eligible candidates can apply through ISRO's official website till August 17, 2026. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 scores.
Which ISRO centres will be recruited?
Selected candidates can be recruited in various ISRO centres including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Sriharikota, Mahendragiri, Hassan and Valiyamala.
Posts to be filled in these branches
A total of 93 posts have been allotted for various engineering branches in this ISRO recruitment. There are maximum 35 posts in Electronics, followed by 26 in Mechanical and 13 posts in Computer Science. Also, this recruitment includes 10 posts in Civil, 4 in Electrical, 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, 2 in Architecture and 1 in Civil PRL Autonomous Body.
What are the eligibility criteria for recruitment?
To apply, candidates must have a BE or BTech degree in the relevant engineering branch. They must have a valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 score in the relevant branch for which the post is being applied for. The GATE score will be considered valid. Eligible candidates registered on the National Career Service Portal can also apply for this recruitment.
Shortlisting for interview based on GATE score
In this recruitment process, candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their GATE score. ISRO has clarified that the basis for this will be GATE score, not just GATE marks or rank. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview in 1:7 ratio. Candidates' technical knowledge, subject-specific understanding, presentation and communication skills and educational qualifications will be assessed in the interview.
Final merit list through GATE and interview
Both GATE score and interview will be given 50% weightage in the final selection. A minimum aggregate of 60% marks is required for unreserved category candidates. For reserved category candidates, relaxation in eligibility criteria will be applicable as per the rules. ISRO will verify the GATE score provided in the application. According to the notification, action may be taken against the candidate if incorrect information is provided in the application.

The online application process for this recruitment has started. Candidates must apply through the recruitment portal of ISRO's official website isro.gov.in. The application process requires filling personal details, educational qualifications and GATE scores. After completing the registration, candidates will receive a registration number, which must be kept safe for further processing. A valid email address is required in the application, as recruitment related information will be sent through this address. The last date for online application is 17th August.
