If the early morning clouds and burst of rainfall was something to go by, it would have dampened all Republic Day celebrations for today.  The same goes for students and teachers at Bohra Youth Public School at Khanjipeer, which is administered by the Reformist Dawoodi Bohra Jama’at, Udaipur.

With the skies clear at 9 in the morning, the grounds were packed with students and parents et to witness the few hours of cultural activities which were prepared by the teachers and students.  The Chief Guest at todays event was Abbas Ali Nath, President of Dawoodi Bohra Jama’at, and the Guest of Honor was Rajesh Mathur from the Minorities Department, Udaipur.

The event began with Principal Zehra Khan of Bohra Youth Public School welcoming the Guest of Honor, Chief Guest and Special Guests, including Hibtullah Attari – Secretary Dawoodi Bohra Jam’at, Ashiq Ali – Joint Secy Dawoodi Bohra Jama’at; Ghazanfer Okasa – Secretary Bohra Youth Sansthan; Anees Miyaji – President Medical Relief Forum and other senior members and executives of the Dawoodi Bohra Jama’at.

The guests were then called on to hoist the National Flag to mark the celebrations of the Republic Day open.

A march past performed by senior students was followed by Aerobics by junior class students that amazed the audience.   Other senior students performed the pyramid and tripod and nursery students performed a routing dance that was also well appreciated by the audience.

Principal Zehra, in her address to the audience elaborated on the improvement in performance of the school students in the Board examinations and other activities. 

Hibtullah Attari, in his address to the students, conveyed the importance of Independence and the Republic of India and how the children need to strive to work for their nation.

Various awards were presented to students for their performance in curricular as well as extra curricular activities.
