At the CBSE National Chess Competition being organized by Lakshmipat Singhaniya Academy, Kolkata, St. Anthony Sr. Sec. School secured sixth position in the under-14 category.

At the CBSE National Chess Competition being organized by Lakshmipat Singhaniya Academy, Kolkata, St. Anthony Sr. Sec. School secured sixth position in the under-14 category.

Principal William D’Souza informed that the school had a close call for the first three positions but ultimately lost and landed on the sixth place with 7 match points and 14 game points. The team was inclusive of FIDE Rated player Divyanshu Babel (captain), dhruv Dak, Gautam Kataria, Devansh Chechani and Alpesh Patni.

He further added that under-19 category championship, the team from the school was at the 8th position with 7 match points and 11 game points. The team comprised of FIDE Rated player Nikhil Yadav (captain), Kunal Chabbra, Kushal Patel, Vandan Lodha and Vedant Sharma. Under-10 team secured 11th position which included members FIDE Rated player Arun Kataria (captain), Tanmay Nalwaya, Prakhar Chaplot, Hardik Dak and Yamish Jain.

In the same game of under-10 category, Arun Kataria won the board prize on a national level by securing 6 out of 6 points. The team was managed by Yogesh Hingad and Nilesh Kumawat.
