Bohra Youth Public Sr Secondary School, Bohrawadi, organised a Science Exhibition on February 22, 2024, to commemorate the National Science Day, which is celebrated in India on February 28 every year to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir CV Raman on this date in 1928. The exhibition was inaugurated by Yaseen Pathan, former Addl CDM, Udaipur and attended by Yusuf Mansoori, retired Engineer; Zahid Mohammed Mansoori, Coordinator, UTTF; Zakir Pansari, Secretary, Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat and Mansoor Ali Shah, Convenor, Bohra Youth Public School school committee.
Students from Grades 5-9 actively participated in the exhibition, showcasing a variety of working models aligned with their Science curriculum. Over 30 projects were prepared by the students, featuring live demonstrations on topics such as the Newton Disc, Aditya L-1, carnival ride, photosynthesis, nitrogen cycle, reflection of light, water purification, greenhouse effect, the inner workings of a torch, biodiversity, cotton cultivation, periscope, robots, Chandrayaan, the human heart, and numerous others.
In addition, approximately 60 visually appealing charts were crafted by the students and showcased on the school premises' terrace. Beyond the attending guests, the exhibits were observed by both school staff members and students from all grades.
The guests present at the exhibition responded positively to the event. Shri Yaseen Pathan praised the students' efforts, particularly highlighting the impressive working models of the heart, wind energy, and ISRO designed by Grade 7, 8, and 9 students, respectively.
Shri Pathan emphasized the significance of guiding students' energy into diverse creative pursuits, highlighting the teachers' ability to recognize each student's unique talents. He described this approach as holistic education.
The Science Exhibition for the academic year 2023-2024 was conducted under the diligent supervision of the school's Science teacher, Harish Suthar, who played a commendable role in guiding the students throughout the entire process of their projects.
