CPS hosts Heritage Awareness Workshop

School students have got the opportunity to learn the traditional folk arts of Terracotta, Pichwai, Saanjhi etc in the recently held Heritage Awareness Workshop at Central Public School. The workshop was organized under the Udaipur chapter of Indian Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTACH).

CPS hosts Heritage Awareness Workshop

80 students from different schools of the city including Central Public School, Maharana Mewar Public School, Alok Sansthan, and St Anthony School learned the popular craftworks of Terracotta, Pichwai and Water Saanjhi under Padmashree Mohanlal Kumhar, Raja Ram Sharma and Rajesh Vaishnav.

The participating students have created idols of Gods and explored the elements of these famous artwork.

Addressing the inaugural function, senior novelist Dr Mahendra Bhanawat, Chhattisgarh State Coordinator of INTACH Lalit Surjan and prominent painter Shail Choyal appealed to the students to preserve these heritage arts and crafts by their contribution. The local coordinator of INTACH S.K Verma expressed his gratitude to Alka Sharma, director of CPS for forming Heritage Club.

CPS hosts Heritage Awareness Workshop

Students Manju Dewasa, Avani Pandya, Urvashi, Deep Panchal (CPS),  Vraitka Rathi (MMPS) and Ritika Bhanu (Alok School) were selected for making best sculptures while in Pichwai Painting, students Osin Sharma, Ayush Bansal (CPS), Divyaraj Singh Rathore (St Anthony) and Rohit Prajapat (Alok) were awarded the best.

Alka Sharma, director of CPS has appreciated the contribution of students and also announced to form a Heritage Club in Rockwoods High School.
