Listening carefully to your child and talking to them is a part of an early education, starting from home. As your child grows up, he/she tends to talk more, including asking several silly questions. Ask your child a lot of questions to help them develop their ideas and also indulge in role plays. Leave behind your smart phone and create rich opportunities for children to use and learn language, since children learn so much from their parents.

Knowledge of Real world more important than Mobile apps

These days, parents are too indulged in using mobile applications. They even encourage their children to use it. It might be a good time pass playing Angry birds, Subway Surf or Candy Crush with your child, but don’t forget you are missing out something more important which can help them in the real world, like at schools.

Why not read books with them or make crafts? This will also help them in learning new words. For example; Jay, can you ‘please’ pass me the scissors? – And when he hands it to you, say -‘thank you!’ By this, your child will also learn proper manners and how to use words in a correct way.

Involve kids in your work; Allow them to Express themselves

Sometimes, we are too busy in our own work that we get distracted with their non-stop talking and we switch on T.V for them so as to make them sit in one position quietly. This will affect their health, eye sight and mental state.

A television can teach your child those words which are unnecessary for them or some actions that are unpleasant for their age. So, why not ask them to join you in your work? If you are cooking, ask them to watch you or help you as far as it’s not dangerous for them and all along talk to them. If you are cleaning your room, ask them to bring what you need and let you know if you are doing your work perfectly or not. Just let them express confidently.

The best thing is to give them some books in hand and photographs and ask them do describe or read whatever they know. Buy them books with more graphics, and less words. Let them babble, while you do your work and make sure to reply back properly. Give them some counting work too. If you want to lighten your mood, ask your child to act like you or any family member who is close to him/her.

Generally, it is also very important for us to use polite words and basic greetings in front of our child, such as; hello, thank you, sorry, please, take care and mainly, I Love You. I am sure you would love to hear all that back.
