MDS grabs 9th position in CBSE Chess Competition
The Under-14 team of MDS Sr. Sec. School secured All India 9th position in CBSE National Chess Championship held at Amritsar, Punjab. The event was held at D.A.V School, Amritsar from 18th-23rd November.
The Under-14 team of MDS Sr. Sec. School secured All India 9th position in CBSE National Chess Championship held at Amritsar, Punjab. The event was held at D.A.V School, Amritsar from 18th-23rd November.
Dr Nidhi Maheshwari, principal of MDS Sr. Sec. School informed that more than 51 schools across the country who qualified for CBSE Nationals took part in the tournament. Even the teams from CBSE affiliated schools based at U.A.E’s, Sharjah, CBSE participated in the tournament.
Vatsalya Yadav, the Team MDS Coordinator informed that the team consisting of Ayush Lodha (captain), Kanishk Pandey, Prabhav Maheshwari, Udlakshy Raina and Saket Agrawal bagged unexpected score of 7 in six rounds after holding the current champions South Point Calcutta on a Draw. Team MDS consisting of players of Class 3 to 8, played wonderfully for 3 draws and 2 wins to secure All India 9th position. Ayush Lodha with 3.5 points, Prabhav Maheshwari with 4 points, Saket Agrawal with 3 points, Udlakya Raina with 3 and Kanishk Pandey with 1 point contributed in the top-10 standings of Team MDS at national platform.
