Class VIII students of The Study school learnt about subsistence farming by visiting and watching the daily activities of such farmer. The farmer explained about the types of crops he grows and the planning he has to do to save the produce from various vagaries of nature like heavy or no rain, too hot too cold weather.

Mr Kuka ji also explained about the types of traditional agricultural implements he has been using. He also grows enough for his family.
Subsistence agriculture is self-sufficiency farming in which the farmers focus on growing enough food to feed themselves and their families. The typical subsistence farm has a range of crops and animals needed by the family to feed and clothe themselves during the year.
