Students from The Study School treated their peer group children, but from an underprivileged strata of society, to a movie show at PVR Cinemas yesterday. The students, totaling 90 in number, studying in class 6th – 10th and living in an Orphanage in Sukher, were taken to view “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” at PVR Cinemas in Celebration Mall.

Many of these orphan children have never visited PVR or even the Mall and were surprised to see the development in that area.

The previous week, the students of The Study has undertaken a workshop in the school premises, titled the Business and Trade Learning Program. In this event, the students had earned a profit of Rs. 1,800. As decided, this amount was to go towards a charitable event or to a NGO. Hence, the orphanage at Sukher was contacted and movie show was accordingly decided.

“Most people contribute clothes and food and there is no shortage of that, what is lacking is entertainment and inner clothes for the underprivileged and No one think about it! Therefore the students decided on entertainment for the underprivileged students,” said a teacher of the school.

The program was successful after the support and coordination of Arvind Sharma, In-charge of the orphanage home, who was contacted through Shobha Karwa, who is a social worker and an activist for many causes in Udaipur.
