Inaugurating the Rifle Shooting Range at Delhi Public School in Udaipur, Apurvi Chandela, Udaipur’s international rifle shooter said that there is no looking back for girls, once they set their eyes on their goal – be it any field.
The 10meter Air Pistol and 10meter Rifle Shooting Range, a first for schools in Rajasthan was inaugurated by Apurvi Chandela on 9th July at DPS Udaipur. The launching of such a facility at the school level will facilitate Olympic level training to students who take interest in this sport. Students of DPS as well as from outside the school are welcome to enroll themselves in this facility.
In her address to those present at the event as well as with the media, Apurvi said that she has begun her preparations for the 2020 Olympics and is confident of securing a medal. She consolidated the observation that with the provision of such a training facility in Rajasthan, future champions will be groomed.
Apurvi also inaugurated the Robotics Lab as well as the Language Lab at DPS simultaneously.

The international shooters father, Kuldeep Singh Chandela said that DPS Udaipur provides an atmosphere of all round development of a student. Hence students of school come out with flying colors and with abundant skillsets. He also pointed out that the role of parents in the overall development of a child is of paramount importance and should not be ignored. A skilled and honest child who is good in sports does not face any trouble in securing a good placement for higher education, be it at the national level or internationally.
Acting Principal, Sanjay Narvaria said that the establishment of a Rifle Shooting range in DPS Udaipur had been a long pending dream of the Chairman of DPS, Govind Agarwal. He also elaborated on the academic facilities available at DPS for students of the school.
The inauguration was preceded by a cultural evening, where girls performed the Kathak on stage. A bhajan by a student of the school began the evening long program.
Chairman Govind Agarwal, Mani Agarwal, PF Commissioner and many other eminent guests were present on the occasion.
