Woman impersonates owner to sign fake sale deeds and illegally sell 10 bigha property; repeat offenders among the four arrested
Udaipur, May 3, 2025 – In a case involving land grabbing by impersonating a legitimate landowner, police in the Badgaon police station area have arrested four people. The action was taken under the direction of Udaipur District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal.
Badamibai, wife of Motilal Suthar, a resident of Rakhampura Bedwas, filed a report at the police station alleging that 10 bighas of her registered agricultural land had been fraudulently transferred by another woman posing as her. According to the complaint, the accused woman impersonated Badamibai and executed a sale deed in favour of a buyer named Arjun Singh, son of Bhopal Singh. The sale deed bore the signatures of two people, Gajendra and Hamersingh, as witnesses.
Following the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation launched. Under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Umesh Ojha and Circle Officer Kailash Chandra Boriwal, a special team was formed, led by Station House Officer (SHO) Puran Singh. The team gathered evidence during the investigation, identified the four main accused, detained them and subsequently placed them under arrest.
The arrested individuals are:
Surjabai, wife of late Bagdiram, a resident of Savna Gram Panchayat Sihad, Police Station Kurabad. She impersonated Badamibai and signed fraudulent documents in the sale deed.
Shankarlal, son of late Devilal, a resident of Back Gali, Kanpur, Police Station Pratap Nagar. He brought the fake landowner into the transaction and played a key role in the fraud. He already has two previous cases of fraud registered against him.
Kamlesh Das, son of Mohandas,a resident of Azad Mohalla, Kurabad. He was responsible for involving witness Hamersingh in the deal.
Rameshgiri, son of Ganeshgiri, a resident of Amarpura Khalsa, Police Station Kheroda. He falsely claimed to be a relative of Badamibai in order to validate the land deal. He has five previous cases against him, including fraud, assault, theft and violations under the NDPS Act.
During interrogation, all four accused confessed to the crime. The police are now searching for other accomplices and the investigation is continuing.
