Udaipur City Railway Station will add a new entry gate towards the Tekri-Police Line End, facilitating additional and easy passage for about 50K passengers.  This entry will be commissioned by August 2015.

Budgeted at Rs. 1.5 Crore, the UMC has issued a payment of Rs 50 Lac towards the project, subsequent to the meeting on Tuesday.  This is validated as per the earlier commitment of the UMC to fund the project with Rs. 1 Crore.  The  two month old verbal agreement was translated to paper when Ajmer Division Head Naresh Salocha, Mayor Kothari and senior members of the departments met at the construction site.  The first cheque of Rs. 50 lac was given on Tuesday evening, with a promise to hand over the second payment after 10 days and the third after another 10 days.

Udaipur City Railway Station will be the second in the state after Jaipur to have two entry gates and will be funded exclusively by UMC, MP Fund and MLA Fund.  Rs 1 Crore will be given by the UMC, Rs. 20 Lac from MP Arjun Lal Meena, Rs. 15 Lac from MLA Gulab Chand Kataria and Rs. 15 Lac from Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena.  The Second Entry Gate at Jaipur was funded by the Railway Fund.
