Negligence report against Raahat Hospital
Family members and parents of a new born have accused a local child care hospital, Raahat, located at Madhuban Udaipur, of negligence in monitoring the health of a premature baby
Family members and parents of a new born have accused a local child care hospital, Raahat, located at Madhuban Udaipur, of negligence in monitoring the health of a premature baby.
As per information received, a premature baby (7 months) weighing 700grams, was born on 29 November at Kalpana Nursing home. The father, Nirbhay Singh, informed that that nursing home referred the baby to Raahat Hospital, citing better care for the premature baby. While at Raahat, it has been accused that the doctors gave false information saying that the baby’s condition was improving, and that there was a slight infection in the legs. However, the family informed that during birth, there was no such condition, and that it was due to wrong prescription and injections that the infection had developed.
When the condition of the baby worsened, the hospital referred the baby to the general hospital, where doctors informed that wrong medication had been given to the baby, resulting in the infection. The family then approached Raahat for explanation, leading to an altercation at the hospital.
Nirbhay has lodged an FIR citing negligence on part of Raahat hospital, whereas the hospital has registered a counter FIR, citing manhandling of hospital staff and theft by the family members of the child.
