June 25, 2025 - Aamir Khan played the villain in the third part of the Dhoom franchise. He had a double role in Dhoom 3, and Katrina Kaif was seen opposite him. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra were also part of the film.
The story of Dhoom 3 was written by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who also directed the movie. It was produced by Aditya Chopra. Like the first two films of the franchise, the third part was also a big blockbuster. Although the audience liked the film a lot, Aamir was not fully happy with the story.
In a recent interview, the actor said that the original story of Dhoom 3 was much better. But the makers changed it at the last moment and removed a character, thinking it was not needed.
Character Removed
Actually, Sweety's character was not shown in Dhoom 3, even though she had a role in the first two films. Aamir told Mashable India that the film could have been better if Sweety was included. According to him, “Dhoom 3 could have been better because there was a character in the original script - Jai Dixit's wife, Sweety, who was in parts 1 and 2.”
Original Story of Dhoom 3 Better
Aamir further said, “Adi (Aditya Chopra) and Victor (Vijay Krishna Acharya) felt that the character was not needed, so they removed it. They didn’t even shoot those scenes. According to me, that was a mistake. Right now, the character of Jai’s wife is missing. In the original story, it starts with the wife planning to divorce him.”
Real Story of Dhoom 3?
Earlier, the story of Dhoom 3 was supposed to explore the relationship between Jai Dixit (played by Abhishek Bachchan) and his wife Sweety. Rimi Sen had played the role of Sweety in Dhoom and Dhoom 2. In the third film, it was planned to show that she wanted to divorce Jai. Then Jai would ask her for one last chance and plan a honeymoon.
Just then, Jai gets a call from the commissioner about a big case in Chicago. He convinces Sweety to come with him. The original story would have shown how Jai handles both his personal and professional life at the same time. Aamir believes that if this part of the story had been kept, the audience would have connected more deeply with Jai’s character.
