'Maa': Kajol’s Emotional Drama Set for Digital Release

July 15, 2025 - Kajol's film Maa released in theatres at the end of last month. As a supernatural horror thriller, the movie entertained the audience a lot. It also did well at the box office. Now, there is news that Maa, starring Kajol, will soon be released on OTT.

The film was released in theatres on June 27. Also starring Ronit Roy, the movie went down well with the audience with its strong story and horror scenes.

Now people are waiting for its OTT release. Usually, a film takes 6 to 8 weeks to come on OTT after its theatre release. Since Maa is still running in cinemas, it may take some more time.

It is expected that it will stream online in the first or second week of August. Before the movie’s release, Netflix had already bought its digital rights.

It has been 16 days since Maa was released, and the movie is still doing well at the box office. So far, it has collected more than Rs 35 crore (net).

However, the film is still behind in covering its full cost. As per media reports, the total budget of Maa is more than Rs 50 crore. Looking at this, the movie may end up getting an “average” verdict in terms of box office success.
