A ten day workshop/exhibition on Mural Designing is being conducted in Udaipur from 26th June to 6th July 2011. The workshop will conclude with a unique exhibition held by the students who are participating in the event.
The event is the first of its kind in Udaipur and is taking place at Jagat Mehta Ki Badi near the Fatehpura area of Udaipur. The organization of the workshop has been undertaken by Manisha Patel and is being conducted by the famous mural designer Bharat Rawal, who is credited as the inventor of 3D Mural Art.
During the course of the workshop, the participating students will be trained in some of the most advanced and innovative techniques of Mural Design by Bharat Rawal. The practicum is non- commercial; no professional fees are charged and only the material expense is to be borne by student.
On asking about Mural’s Inspiration Bharat replied “Paintings can be done on walls and canvas but the 3D effect is impossible to create on such things. That is why I have started creating murals with Clay, Glass, Stone and Metals on wooden background.”
The learners do not require any art or craft background to participate in the 10 day workshop and will be followed by an exhibition of the pieces that will be created during the course of the event.
Students will be taught professional subject like 3D Ceramic Murals, 3D Siporex Murals, 3D Glass Murals and 3D Mix Media Murals. Bharat Rawal invented these art forms 30 years ago. And in the tradition of passing on one’s talent to others, Mr. Rawal has trained 4000 students all over India and many are working professionally in the field.
Murals are a kind of art work which is deliberately created on permanent surfaces like wall and ceilings with 3D effects.
Despite that the workshop has already begun, people interested in joining are still welcome and can enroll for the event online on www.bharatrawal.com.
