Over 1000 people lost their lives in road accidents in Udaipur till November, this year with a total of 9,438 deaths that took place in Rajasthan from January to November, according to the state police data.

On the basis of the police data, out of total number of deaths in Rajasthan, Jaipur recorded the highest with 4,017 deaths in the city, Alwar with 1,311 deaths and Udaipur on the third position with a total number of 1,279 deaths followed by 1,287 in Ajmer.
Transport Minister Yunus Khan said that the government was trying to bring down the cases of road accidents by taking initiatives to improve road engineering and other measures.
He added that the government was speeding up road projects in the state so that accidents can be curbed to minimum level.
Keeping the figures in mind, Udaipur police is acting stringent from 2015 onward through strict rules of having licenses and helmets while driving.
