Ex-vice President of Devgarh Municipality and ex councilor Late. Lachhi Ram Sukhlecha left this world a year ago but his 30 years old resolution of donating his body for the use of medical research is still alive and working live as a source of inspiration to many people.

Late Lachhiram’s body was donated to RNT medical college last year on 9th May 2010. On 8th may 2011, a blood donation camp (from 10 am to 1pm) would be organized and simultaneously volunteer forms for dead body donation would be distributed among those who want to donate their dead body.

A charitable trust named ‘Lachhi Ram Hanja Bai Charitable Trust’ would be organizing the blood donation camp. Volunteers would also be given honour in front of everyone. Approx. 40 people would be donating their blood on this occasion.

Volunteer forms for resolving the donation of dead bodies would also be distribute. This was the first occasion where majority in the family volunteered for donation of their body after death.

To mark the first death anniversary and body donation, His resolution of body donation after death injected a wave of motivation in 15 members of his family who followed Lachhi Ram’s footsteps and took the oath to donate their bodies.

Gautam Sukhlecha – Lachhiram’s son told that ‘The same blood donation camp with volunteer forms to fill for dead body donation was organized last year also on 15/05/2010 by this Lachhi Ram Hanja Bai charitable trust’. Lachhi Ram Sukhlecha had been a councilor of municipality and later he joined as the vice president of Municipality. Lachhi Ram set a benchmark for everyone in Mewar and many are following his footsteps.
