Two deaths in Udaipur today have taken up the number of COVID deaths in the district to 13.  New positive cases for the day (at the time of reporting is 32).

Over the day, 1,234 sample reports were received of which 32 were found to be positive.

A 54 year old male and a 78 year old male succumbed to COVID19 at Udaipur MB Hospital today.

Ashok Kumar, aged 54, son of Madanlal Sharma, resident of Sunderwas, Udaipur was diagnosed with atypical pneumonia, ARDS and respiratory failure, a vanilla case of acute COVID19 infection. He was admitted to hospital on 12 July and succumbed to respiratory failure today at 4:30pm.

Earlier during the day, Daulatram Paliwal (Son of Ramlal Paliwal), aged 78, resident of Tekri chauraha Udaipur, succumbed to COVID19 conditions at 2:30am. He was also suffering from hypertension and Asthma.

32 new positive patients took the total tally of positive patients in Udaipur to 1045. Of the 386 patients found positive in the last one month, 25% were migrants and 26% were local cases. 48% of the new cases (186) are close contacts of the primary patients.

Of the 32 patients found positive today, 22 were close contacts and 4 were migrants.  3 members of the health fraternity in MB hospital were also declared COVID19.  All patients have been immediately taken in for treatment and search for close contacts has begun.

The number of active cases in the district are 171.
