A lot of commotion was seen at St.Pauls School Bhupalpura at around 3 pm when a community specific group started protesting outside the school gate for nearly 3 hours. The group blamed St. Paul’s authority for religious conversion of people from tribal belts of Dungarpur, Banswara and Jhadol area who have been gathered for an event inside St.Pauls School.
After feeling the sensitivity of the situation heavy police force was deployed to keep the condition under control and peaceful. All senior officers have reached the location including DYSP, ADM city and S.P. lot of media and locals were also gathered around the area.
It all started when a religious meeting was going on inside St Pauls School. Some of the Members of a Hindu organization gathered outside the campus and blamed that tribal Hindus are being forcefully converted. They started shouting slogans and tried to go inside the campus.
However, Father Remigious of St Paul’s said that, “There is no sort of religious conversion taking place in the school premises. It is just a spiritual function and all the people gathered here are Christians.”
The police then took the situation in their hands. SP of Udaipur along with DYSP and ADM city discussed with both parties and went inside the campus to check what is going on. They inspected the situation to see if is there is anybody who has been forcefully brought there, none from the crowd said anything and it was thus clear that they were there by their own choice. After this, father Remigiuos also gave it in writing that, there was no conversion taking place inside the campus and it was just a spiritual gathering.
The matter is now all resolved and situation is back to normal.
