Bagoliya dam which comes under Mavli region will be filled using Udaisagar water. A 32 km long canal(feeder) is to be made to fill Bagoliya dam which has a capacity of 686 MCFT(21.50 feet).

Survey work for the purpose of canal will attract a budget of 6 lakh rupees. Water resource department gave its financial consent for the construction of canal which is likely to provide drinking water to around 100 villages in Mavli. The dam is without water since a decade due to scanty rainfall. Legislator Dalichand Dangi was working on the project of filling Bagoliya dam with water from Udaisagar for the past 4 years.

As per Department of irrigation, a 32 kilometre long canal will be needed to connect Udaisagar and Bagoliya dam. After financial approval from the water resource department, local officers made provisions for tender process. After the completion of tender process, it is being estimated that the survey work will be done in three months’ time. A detailed project report will follow which will determine the expenses of canal construction.

Dalichand Damgi was actively working on the possibilities of filling Bagoliya dam. The issue was even raised in assembly sessions. As per Dangi, around 100 villages will benefit from this canal. The problem of drinking water will be solved for these villages which fall under Mavli region. Availability of water for irrigation will make it easy for the farmers to grow seasonal crops. This will add to the crop production capacity of the villages and prove to be boon for their livelihood.
