3.25 km long 100 feet road to connect 2 national highways
NH-8 and NH-27 to be connected via 3.25 km long 100-feet road.
UIT is in the process of connecting 2 national highways as a step towards strong road network in Udaipur city. NH-8 and NH-27 (Udaipur-Pindwara) will be connected by a 3.25 kilometre long 100-feet road. As per reports this road will begin at NH-8; 300 metres before Chirwa tunnel and connect with NH-27 via Bio-diversity Park.
The project plan has been finalised by UIT. Around 90,000 square metre of land will be required for this project. UIT has constructed many roads in the past three years in the process of strengthening road network in the city and this is the first time that a road will connect two national highways. The proposed plan is also a part of Master Plan-2013 of road network. It may be noted that lands falling under the area of this project are lying vacant and are also quite levelled. Once these lands are allotted on mutual agreement basis, it is expected that the project will require lesser time for the completion.
This 100-feet road will add to the tourism industry as it will pass through Bio-diversity Park in Amberi. The park is equipped with adventure activities and even the promenade at Purohiton ka talab has been beautified for tourism. The road will prove to be a milestone in the development of tourism in this area.
It is also being assessed that the rise in tourism will add to employment in this area and basic amenities will also improve. UIT Chairman Shrimali informed that all objections raised against project are being taken care of. Connectivity between 2 national highways in itself is a going to be a great achievement. People travelling to Nathdwara from Debari will not need to cross Amberi. Those going to Ahmedabad from Nathdwara can take 100 feet road to reach Debari-Kaya bypass. This road will save travellers from traffic pressure and jams.
