3-Day Open Chess Tournament comes to an End
The Three-day State level chess competition which began on the 18th of May at the Shramjivi University campus came to an end yesterday on 20th May. The Open competition saw participants compete in three different categories: the Under-7, Under-11 and Under-17 which had separate categories for boys and girls.

The Three-day State level chess competition which began on the 18th of May at the Shramjivi University campus came to an end yesterday on 20th May. The Open competition saw participants compete in three different categories: the Under-7, Under-11 and Under-17 which had separate categories for boys and girls.
“The competition was organized in 2 Sections: one in Jaipur and one in Udaipur. Cash Prizes worth Rs. 8000 and Mementos were awarded to the winning participants,” said Vikas Sahu, Competition Secretary and a chess trainer himself.
The students who excelled at the tournament will be now competing on the national level under the banner of the All Rajputana Chess Committee.
According to Dr. Dilip Singh Chauhan, chief organizer of the competition, the Chief Guest, Vikram Singh, Co-Secretary, Jaipur District Chess Association along with Mohammed Arif, Dr. Omprakash Sahu, Tejshingh Babel and Parasmal Hingad distributed the prizes to the winners.
In the Under-17 Boys category, Harshit Sharma secured first p with 7 points and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000. Mudit Babel and Yogesh Hinger were the first and the second runner-ups respectively and received cash prizes worth Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 each.
In the Under-17 Girls category, Arpita Jain secured the first position with 4.5 points and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1000. Shubhani Kapoor and Monika Sahu were the first and the second runner-ups respectively and received cash prizes worth Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 each.
In the Under-11 Boys category, Kartik Sorik grabbed the first position with 5.5 points and won Rs. 500 Cash prize. Aahan Malhotra and Aniket Jain were the first and the second runner-ups. Aahan was awarded a cash prize worth Rs. 250.
In the Under-11 Girls category, Akshita Jain secured the first place with 3 points and won a cash prize of Rs. 500. Anisha Jain and Shreya Jain were the first and the second runner-ups. Anisha was rewarded with a cash prize worth Rs. 250.
In the Under-7 Boys Rishab Duta, Dhruv Kalani and Rahul Sharma secured the first, second and third place respectively. Rishab and Dhruv were both awarded cash prizes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 250 respectively.
Yashika Singh grabbed the first position in the Under-7 Girls category and was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 500.
