Senior citizens and those above 45 years of age with co-morbidities will get free vaccines at government centres.

-The Union Minister Prakash Javdekar announced free vaccination at government centres.

-Vaccination will also be conducted at private hospitals but with some cost which will be announced within 2-3 days.

The 3rd phase of covid-19  vaccination has been announced by Union Minister Prakash Javdekar. The 3rd vaccination phase will begin from 1st March at all private and government centres for senior citizens and those above 45 years of age with co-morbidities.

The Union Minister announced that the vaccination will be free of charge at government centres and will attract some payment at private hospitals, the amount for which will be notified within 2-3 days.

The 3rd phase is likely to cover 27 crore people in 10,000 government and 20,000 private centres.

The vaccination drive began on January 16 in India where health workers and frontline workers were vaccinated in the first phase. The 2nd phase was scheduled for February 24.
